The Business Affairs Technical Services (BATS) team supports the University community by providing a wide range of technical products and services.
From GIS mapping, LiDAR scanning, floor plan management, space analysis, and reporting to database, server, website, and application support, our team is here to help.
We support numerous applications and systems for Business Affairs (BA) and Construction, Facilities & Real Estate (CFRE) Vice President units.
We support departmental websites and develop and maintain custom web-based applications designed to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance productivity across the University. We partner with University units to develop custom applications, implement vendor-provided solutions, and integrate enterprise data sources to support business operations and deliver effective technology solutions. In addition, we provide technical support and administration for critical campus operational systems, including door access control systems, work management and maintenance systems, and Building Automation Systems (BAS), helping ensure the reliable operation of essential University services.
The Platform Support Services team maintains and supports all of Business Affairs’ internal infrastructure and systems. Working closely with all our internal departments, we coordinate and effectively communicate across multiple entities and stakeholders on campus to provide a top-tier level of support.
We maintain the University of Florida’s space data, including floor plans, campus maps, and GIS resources that support both operational and academic needs. Our GIS services support operational units across campus while also supporting academic and special event initiatives such as commencement, campus planning efforts, and other University events. We also provide infrastructure mapping services utilizing advanced LiDAR scanning technology to create accurate and detailed spatial data. Additionally, we support construction and renovation efforts by providing existing floor plans, assisting with conceptual renderings, and assigning building and room numbers for University spaces. Our team also provides space auditing, analysis, and planning services to support informed decision-making and efficient space utilization.
